It is with great excitement that I am reminded of the greatness of television.
Sometimes a show comes along that makes you very very happy.
For me, that show since the beginning has been Supernatural. It is a horror film, detective show, and family drama all rolled into one. If you have not watched it, please tune in. I am happy to report that the show has been picked up for a season 6! This is wonderful news, since from the beginning the show was only intended to have five seasons. I was speaking with Ramona (Mrs. Shelton) the other day and discussing the fact that I often introduce others to great books and television. Since I have discussed books previously, I will now fill you all in on the best television had to offer.
1. Supernatural
2. Glee
3. Lost
4. Sons of Anarchy
5. The Vampire Diaries
6. Fringe
7. House
8. Smallville
9. The Tudors
10. Dexter
And for shows that are no longer on but that everyone should watch:
Jericho
Veronica Mars
Moonlight
Being Human
SEINFELD!!!
October Road
7.

I didn't plan on ever posting on here, but then you had to go and mention Supernatural. There are only two shows that come on cable that I take time to watch, Supernatural and Sons of Anarchy. I'll never understand why shows like these are not at the top of the ratings list every week. Guys fighting demons, angels, and monsters and a Soprano type biker gang...need I say more?
ReplyDeleteAs for movie channel shows Dexter would be at the top of my list tied with True Blood. I see you didn't have True Blood in your list, so if you haven't watched it, pausing time and skipping down to the closest place with the dvds available would be a good idea.
Oh Nathan-Ye of little faith. After my posting on Supernatural, how can you doubt my love of True Blood? However, I am glad that you pointed it out to me so that I will be sure to include it on the list. I will go you one better, I have read every book by Charlaine Harris that the show is based on. If you like to read, I suggest picking them up. They are well worth your time!
ReplyDeleteHow come your list of faves so nearly matches mine??? Hmmm *taps chin thoughtfully* maybe it's because we seem to share a brain!
ReplyDeleteSeeing Being Human on the list made me think about the fact that most people are probably going "Huh?" at that one. IMHO, everyone should check out BBC America. I love me some British drama. Let me suggest Doctor Who (especially the David Tennant ones), Survivors, Demons and Hex. Great stuff. I'm waiting on walmart.com to deliver my box set of Hex season 1 right now.
